What does The Privacy Group LLC do?
We are a consulting firm based in Central Florida that specializes in data privacy. We help clients build privacy programs, consult on data privacy projects, provide training and other related services.
Lawful basis for processing
Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information will depend on the category of data and why we obtained it.
We usually collect personal information from you directly. The most common reason we do this is to perform services you contracted The Privacy Group, LLC to perform. Other times we process your data when we have a legitimate interest to do so. We will also process your data when we have a legal obligation to do so or to exercise, establish or defend legal claims. We do not process your data when it would be contrary to your data protection interests or would violate your fundamental rights and freedoms.
If you have questions about the lawful basis on which we collect and use your personal information, please contact us at data.protection@theprivacygroup.com
Who do we share your data with and when?
Your data may be transferred to personal data processors acting on behalf of our company (an example of this would be IT service providers). However, such processors will process the data under a contract with us and solely under our instructions.
Your data may also be shared with competent law enforcement bodies or authorities entitled to obtain them under applicable law (an example of this would be law enforcement authorities, data protection authorities or works councils) if the authority makes a relevant request with a relevant legal basis.
Your data may be shared if you give us consent to do so.
How long will we keep your data?
We will keep the data you provide for as long as we have a legitimate business need to do so. We define this need as: providing service you have requested us to perform or to comply with the law or to meet our obligations to involving taxation or maintain accounting records or to exercise, establish or mount a legal defense.
When we no longer have a legitimate business need to retain or process your data, we will delete it or use deidentification methods to render it unidentifiable. These methods include but are not limited to anonymization and pseudonymization.
If you exercise your rights to request that we delete your data, we will maintain only enough of your information to document our compliance with your request and prevent our company from contacting you again. An example of this would be to maintain a 'do not contact' database with information such as your name, phone number, email address and instructions to not contact you or process your data further.
If you have questions about our data retention policy, please send an email to data.protection@theprivacygroup.com
